For 2009 Super Street, Modified, Import Tuner and eurotuner magazines bring another exciting year of road racing with our Super Lap Battle series. Super Lap Battle is the evolution of our Time Attack event started by Super Street and Sport Compact Car magazines in 2004 where they introduced a time trial based event for the US tuner market.
At its essence Super Lap Battle is man vs. the clock, tuners compete for the fastest lap times possible. Our event is made up of three main classes, Street, Limited and Unlimited. Within those classes they are broken down by drive train, FF (Front wheel drive), FR/MR (Rear wheel Drive and AWD (All wheel drive). Our rules are designed to let tuners use their abilities to the max to setup their car for all out performance.
In 2006 we introduced our qualifying rounds and will continue for 2009. We will go across the country looking for the fastest guys to invite to our Finals held in November at Buttonwillow Raceway. These are held in conjunction with NASA to be our way to reach the reach the grassroots racer and get readers involved in performance driving events.
