Marking the second year in a row, we saw Evasive Motorsports break the Limited AWD class record at the Super Lap Battle Finals in their 2009 Mitsubishi Evo IX. Driven by Tim Kuo they broke their 2007 record by almost 4 seconds with a final time of 1:50.003. Speed Element pulled in at second place with a 1:53.229 and MFQ at third place with a 1:53.981, both teams performances would have put them in the record books had it not been for Evasive Motorsports. Evasive’s new lap time puts them on the pace to be the first Limited Class team to break into the sub 1:50 times which we previously saw only in the Unlimited AWD and FR Classes. It is interesting to note that the very first Time Attack ever held in the United States saw Signal Auto in their Unlimited AWD R34 GTR set the fastest time of the day in April 2004 with a 1:54.2. The Limited AWD class has become increasingly faster compared to a few years ago.
